Steven Randall
Steven Randall is a fractional COO, CSO, and growth strategist who helps founders and operators build businesses that can hold their shape and still move when the market shifts. Over a 20-year career spanning multiple executive roles, he has helped guide companies through rapid scaling, strategic pivots, and successful exits north of $100M — always with the same belief: good operations should make room for good people, not get in their way.
Why "Ooblek"
The name is intentional. Ooblek, the Seussian substance that behaves like both a solid and a liquid, mirrors the businesses Steven partners with. They need structure, but also the ability to move. Rigidity breaks things. Chaos wastes them. The work is knowing which one you're dealing with at any given moment, and building accordingly.
Clients describe his style as hands-on, approachable, and genuinely collaborative. He listens before he prescribes, brings calm to messy moments, and helps leadership teams get aligned without flattening the people inside them. Outside of his professional work, Steven enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending quality time with his two beloved rescue dogs, Kai and Kona. An avid explorer of new cuisines and cities across the globe, he brings the same spirit of curiosity, precision, and intentionality to his personal life as to business.
Beyond his entrepreneurial and strategic endeavors, Steven is deeply committed to making a meaningful impact on others' lives. He actively supports causes and research initiatives focused on Fragile X syndrome and Autism—advocating for greater awareness, early intervention, and continued scientific progress to improve outcomes for individuals and families affected by these conditions. He proudly supports Surfers Healing Folly Beach, Surf Rider Foundation, National Fragile X Foundation, Warrior Surf Foundation and various Upstate South Carolina dog rescues.
Believing that others should come before yourself, Steven has committed 40% of all Ooblek's annual revenue to the support of these causes and many others.
